New recruitment

Introduction

In this seminar, we explore healthcare and health issues through textbook and policy report readings, basic data analysis using statistical software, and group discussions. Students will learn about healthcare systems while developing fundamental analytical skills.

The seminar first introduces the fundamental concepts of healthcare systems and their broader contexts. As the seminar progresses, we transition into hands-on learning. Students are introduced to basic data analysis techniques using statistical software, gaining practical experience in working with real-world health data, identifying trends, and understanding the implications of policies. Group discussions during this phase encourage critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving.

Ying Yao

As a health economist, I use economic analysis to understand healthcare systems and social issues affecting health outcomes. My research emphasizes empirical approaches to evaluate policies and understand behavior. I welcome students who are curious about healthcare challenges and eager to develop analytical skills, even without prior experience in these areas.
