Introduction

The three main activities of the seminar are: 1) reading (mainly in English) literature on the history of economics and the history of economic thought; 2) learning methods of social analysis that make extensive use of programming in light of recent new developments in the humanities and social sciences, such as Digital Humanities (DH); 3) developing a variety of methods of social analysis in collaboration with domestic companies and foreign universities; and 4) developing a variety of methods of social analysis that make extensive use of programming, such as the use of the Internet. In collaboration with universities, extracurricular activities with working people and foreign students will be conducted (e.g., workshops and seminars). In the on-campus activities (1) and (2), students will not only learn the content, but also actively use English to give reports (presentations), hold discussions, and ask questions. 経済学史・経済思想の講義を受講していることは必須ではないが、すでに受講済みか受講予定であることが望ましい。ただし、応募時に専門知識は求めない。国際性を重要視する観点からPEARL 生を歓迎する。語学力は問わないが、ゼミ内で英語と日本語の両方を使用するため、そのどちらも使用する(話す+読む)意欲がある者を求める。選考は面接(オンラインもしくは対面)を実施。
